overgrowth of the nuisance species is too excessive for an herbicide application
to be successful. This procedure is also performed on waterways where
governmental regulatory agencies have prohibited the use of herbicides.
After
a shoreline clean up, aquascaping (planting of beneficial plants) along the shoreline can be done to
re-stabilize the soil. This prevents harmful shoreline erosion. Monitoring and maintaining the clean and aquascaped
shoreline is essential to prevent unsightly infestations and ensures survival
of native beneficial plants.
